We’ve spent more than 10 years creating experiences that build character to empower kids through a lifetime of new challenges and continuous personal growth. Since our start in 2011, we have been faced with many unique challenges and opportunities in our lives, our work, and our communities. Throughout this time, we have adapted, pivoted, and grown to meet the needs of our participants. While change can sometimes be hard, it’s our youth who inspires us. They’re resilient and adaptable as they reach for their dreams and work toward creating a better world.  

We build these opportunities and experiences through…

• A progressive curriculum that focuses on social and emotional learning objectives through activities that are developmentally  appropriate, designed to meet kids where  they are.
• Multi-level coach training programs that focus on research-proven methods of positive youth development, providing our  coaches with the tools to make kids feel  safe, included and empowered.
• An annual slate of advanced national participant opportunities that facilitate growth and inspire personal  transformation.
• A robust college scholarship program that provides tuition assistance, personal and professional development, and mentorship  for First Tee alumni.

The cost for First Tee Eastern Michigan to provide programming to a participant is around $450. However, we only charge $150 for registration fees to make programming accessible and affordable to all kids, regardless of income or skill level. This year we have had a record high number of financial aid requests and have seen a substantial increase in the number of children who need equipment. Your investment in First Tee – Eastern Michigan will help shape the lives of youth as we:  

• Impact kids from all walks of life. We will meet kids where they are: at school, at home, in neighborhoods, or our local golf courses.  

• Expand our reach like never before, particularly seeking out opportunities to provide programs for historically underserved and underrepresented kids and families.  

• Support the next generation of mentors and leaders, and ensure they reflect the youth in our community.  

We believe every young person deserves the chance to build inner strength before the world demands it, to find the joy that comes with feeling confident in their own skin and to access experiences and spaces where personal growth happens. Thank you for your ongoing support in our work.
