What is a 100 Hole Golf Marathon?
A Golf Marathon is all about fun, friendly competition, and making a difference! On October 4th, our two regions will gear up at IMA Brookwood for a little friendly rivalry—competing not only to see who can play the most holes in a single day (some even go for 100!) but also who can bring in the most pledges. Every dollar raised directly supports First Tee Eastern Michigan programs, helping us reach more kids, teach valuable life skills, and inspire the next generation through the game of golf.
How does a Golf Marathon work?
Marathoners can take on the challenge solo or form a team to tackle it together! Participants raise money by collecting pledges from friends, family, coworkers, and others through their personal fundraising page. Pledges can be made per hole or as a flat donation. On the day of the marathon, golfers play as many holes as they can in one day—working to raise as much as possible based on the pledges they’ve secured. For example, if a marathoner is pledged $6 per hole and plays 108 holes, they’ve raised $648.
How Do the Teams Work?
We have created three teams: Coaches, Game Changers (FTEM Participants), and Board/Committee Members to compete in reaching their fundraising goal! Teams are competing against each other to see which team can raise the most funds for First Tee Eastern Michigan. You can join a team or create your own team and start fundraising to compete against others below!
Donation Types:
Flat Donations: Donors can choose to give a fixed amount, regardless of how many holes are played.
Pledge Per Hole: Donors pledge a specific amount for each hole completed. This can be a great motivator for participants to reach their 100-hole goal, knowing that each additional hole played increases the total donation.
